Neutral Gender Restrooms in Nevada
Healthcare & Safety
Transgender people across the United States face barriers and discrimination in regards to accessing healthcare and receiving insurance coverage, not just the transgender community in Las Vegas. Although this is a nationwide issue, what makes Nevada worse than many other states is the fact that there are such few healthcare providers that offer the services that transgender people are seeking. The transgender community in Las Vegas face many barriers to healthcare, in addition to discrimination. This rings true for the entire LGBTQ community in Las Vegas, but for those seeking gender affirmation surgery, it is even more difficult.
The main priorities of NGAHP is healthcare, policy, education, and community research. We want to reduce the barriers to care, while also ensuring that patients are receiving the best care possible from physicians that are gender affirming and nondiscriminatory.
